Golden Ace, who capitalised on the falls of earlier victors Structure Hill and State Man, wasn’t initially deliberate to go for the Champion Hurdle.
“We have been ready to see if Lossiemouth would go for the Mares or Champion Hurdle,” he defined.
“She’s clearly a really gifted horse, so we have been leaning in the direction of the Mares with the extent of competitors within the Champion Hurdle.
“The proprietor, Ian Gosden, determined we might go for the Champion Hurdle as a result of there’s some good prize cash if we end within the locations, so after all me and Jeremy [Scott, trainer] have been comfortable to be on board.”
Golden Ace began as a 25-1 outsider with Structure Hill main the market.

Golden Ace’s coach Jeremy Scott has indicated the seven-year-old will now head to the Punchestown competition.
“I am revved for that, it will be a pleasant potential rematch with Structure Hill and State Man, I have never ridden at Punchestown since I used to be 17 so I am unable to wait to again,” he added.
