    Wansbeck gymnastics membership opens new Ashington centre

    A sports activities membership which has greater than 300 kids on its ready record has moved into new premises.

    Wansbeck Gymnastics and Trampolining Membership has been working out of Ashington Leisure Centre in Northumberland for practically 30 years, however has now begun providing lessons at an tailored industrial unit in Ashwood Enterprise Park.

    The membership has 4 trampolinists competing on the highest nationwide degree and 100 kids in its aggressive squad.

    Head coach Liz Naylor mentioned: “These children have a lot expertise and I simply need them to place Ashington on the map of their sport.”

    The membership’s new base is way bigger and has a viewing platform the place dad and mom can watch the lessons.

    In November a sprung ground shall be laid which is required for gymnasts to carry out ground routines.

    Ms Naylor mentioned: “After I took it on 11 years in the past, the membership was on the verge of closing. Now we won’t sustain with demand.

    “We would simply outgrown Ashington Leisure Centre, the place we needed to arrange and put away all of the gear for every session.

    “We have got some high degree gymnasts however I needed to take them to Newcastle so they may use a few of the services there.”

    Carl Donaldson, whose 13-year-old daughter trains for no less than 12 hours every week, mentioned: “Numerous teenage women cease doing sport, so I am so glad they’ve this implausible new facility.

    “It saves us having to journey to Newcastle and can imply the membership can coach much more kids.”

    Ms Naylor says shifting to new premises has been a “large group effort”.

    “Numerous firms have helped us without spending a dime, or given us a reduction and we raised over £30,000 for the sprung ground alone,” she mentioned.

    “However that is an space the place many households do not have the cash to journey to Newcastle and the youngsters need to have the easiest on their doorstep.”
