Filip Nowacki wins second gold medal at World Juniors


Jersey’s Filip Nowacki received his second gold medal on the World Junior Swimming Championships in Romania, setting a championship document for the boys’s 200m breaststroke.

The 17-year-old completed in two minutes 7.32 seconds, 0.24 seconds away from Japan’s Shin Ohashi, whom he additionally beat in the 100m breaststroke on Wednesday.

His time shaved two seconds off the earlier championship document of two:09.40, set by Josh Matheny, of america, in 2019.

Nowacki might be chasing his third medal when he competes within the 50m breaststroke heats on Saturday, with the ultimate happening on Sunday.
