Delta Work: Cheltenham winner dies aged 12


Three-time Cheltenham Competition winner Delta Work, who additionally completed runner-up within the 2024 Grand Nationwide, has died on the age of 12.

The horse, owned by Gigginstown Home Stud and skilled by Gordon Elliot, handed away following a bout of colic.

Delta Work first tasted success at Cheltenham within the 2018 Pertemps Ultimate, earlier than back-to-back victories within the Glenfarclas Chase in 2022 and 2023.

In addition to 5 victories at Grade One degree, Delta Work completed third within the Grand Nationwide in 2022 and second two years later.

“He was an unbelievable horse and we have been very, very fortunate and proud to have him and be related to him,” mentioned Gigginstown’s Eddie O’Leary.
