An apprentice jockey has appeared in court docket charged with the homicide of a pensioner who died after a struggle outdoors a pub.

Levi Williams, 25, is claimed to have punched 71-year-old Richard Wingrove through the incident outdoors the Waggon and Horses pub, in Excessive Avenue.

Mr Williams had beforehand been arrested on suspicion of assault inflicting grievous bodily hurt, and had been bailed.
